In Balance with Nature

Since the past Rough nights, I have become aware that one of my goals for the future is to contribute every day to a better world. Even if it is only an action or gesture and even if it seems insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

In our – still seemingly ordinary – origins, mankind was perfectly capable of living in harmony with nature. If one looks back at the history of mankind, the question quickly arises why we, as intelligent beings, are not able to use developed technologies in such a way that Mother Earth is not harmed.

This is a question to which there are many different answers. It is and remains, however, a collective question that encompasses each of us in our entirety as humanity. Since I cannot directly exert any influence on the whole of humanity with its most diverse interests, I have personally asked myself the question of how I can live more in harmony with nature. For me personally, I have come to the conclusion that it is very fulfilling to perform actions every day in total awareness of doing something for Mother Earth.

It is every day a small gift for nature, which I deliver and I experience this moment consciously.

It starts with little things like hanging the laundry out to dry instead of using the dryer. Leaving the car behind and riding my bike to work. It’s amazing how differently you start the day. I feel much fitter and more resilient. You’re also more aware of your surroundings when you’re riding your bike. You feel what the weather is like, you hear the birds chirping and you can switch off from work much better on the way back.

Grow vegetables in your own garden, separate his garbage correctly, saving energy, making your own cosmetics or personal care products, using items multiple times, etc….. There are many possibilities and everyone knows best what he can and want to contribute.

Such small actions can be done anywhere. It is a “more mindful lifestyle” that leads us to consciously renounce of something or do it differently. Such small actions can be done anywhere. If you have children, they may start out just watching you change things. In time, however, your children will also lead a more mindful lifestyle, as they will automatically pick it up from their role models.

For me this is a way to connect intensively with nature and to live my life in love, peace and harmony – consciously in the Here & Now.

In preparation of the Rough Nights

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Already a while ago I started to look back on the experiences I made this year. This year I thought it would be nice to create a kind of “fill-in” book that I only have to fill in during the rough nights.

The book is designed as follows:

– Year in review & outlook
– Overall goals for 2023
– 21.12.2022 Winter Solstice

– 1st Rough night: family day

– 2nd Rough night: Higher Self – Peace – Inner Leadership
– 3rd Rough night: Upliftment / Miracle
– 4th Rough night: Transformation – Resolution
– 5th Rough night: Day of friendship
– 6th Rough night: Holy Family
– 7th Rough night: transition & coming time
– 8th Rough night: Birth of the new
– 9th Rough night: Gold & light recognize & blessing
– 10th Rough night: Connection with the divine
– 11th Rough night: Farewell, let go
– 12th Rough night: Grace night of miracles

– Conclusion

Here you can see the layout of the “fill-in” book:

In each Rough night, I will note the animals which I have seen and such which have shown themselves in a special way. I have also left a little space for the dreams. I will note there the dreams that I can remember.
In addition, I had planned to use a certain incense for each Rauhnachts theme.

The 13th wishes I note on December 21 on small colorful slips of paper in duplicate (26 slips). One version I fold and store in a small wooden box. The other version I put in my “fill in” book.
To each Rough night I pull a wish without looking from this box. The one version of this wish I stick in my “fill-in” book. The other version of it, I plant with a seed in my flower bed or in a flower pot with soil. This year, I have different seeds, which I then assign to the corresponding Rough nights. Each flower has a certain meaning.

As you can see, I have this year for each Rough night also a small “mini” ritual planned.

My ideas should serve you only as inspiration. You can design the Rough night very different and everyone can incorporate their own ideas and creative impulses.

Enjoy your “fill-in” book for the rough night!

Drumstick DIY

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

I didn’t like the drum beater that came with my drum very much from the beginning.
So I decided to build a nice one myself.
In the forest I looked for a sturdy beech branch and found by chance a few feathers that were black and white, probably from a pigeon.

For the measurements, I took my old drumstick to help.
Then I sawed it off at about 36-40 cm. With a carving knife I carved off the top layer of the branch. Then I filed down the wooden stick with sandpaper until it was nice and smooth and felt good in my hand. The white branch surface I treated with walnut oil several times. Here you have to make sure that the first layer dries for about a week, or at least a few days, before applying the next layer of oil. After 3-4 coats of oil, you can stop and let the branch stick dry again for a few days.

Then I took a jewelry bag which I still had left. In this I filled the fur of my dog (Labrador). In between I put a few small semi-precious stones such as an amethyst. The fur I pressed firmly into the bag. Then I knotted it with the ribbon around the bat. The two top corners I sewed tightly to the bag.

Now you need a piece of leather, which you can cut to size. I have taken for the form as a guide the jewelry bag. You can also put the bat on the leather and take a few millimeters and mark the outline with a pencil. Then cut the leather to size.

You can now sew the two opposite sides together with a leather needle and thread. I have about the first 3 centimeters sewn together tightly. Then I put the leather bag over the filled jewelry bag and sewed so further. Shortly before the end of the branch I cut the leather ends again accurately.

Now I threaded the feathers on a normal needle and sewed them together, so that they peek out between the leather bag. I sewed the feathers to the leather. At the end I tied a leather ribbon of the same leather around the leather bag. I pulled it as hard as I could (but without tearing the leather).

Your drumstick is ready!

My drumstick has a great sound and looks just beautiful.

In memory of your place of power

In the winter season, when the days are getting shorter and it is getting colder outside, you can not manage to stay outside as long as in summer time.

So that the place of power is still with us and we connect with it, it is a nice ceremony to create a “box” with things of the place of power.

Last week, I went to the forest and collect all kind of things such as moss, acorns skipping weed, tree bark, beechnuts, rose hops etc.

I then decroated these things in an old cigar box and put it on a dreasser in my living room. Whenever I walk by it reminds me of my place of power.

That is very powerful. So I always stay connected to my place of power, even if I can’t go there as often as in summer time.

At this time I also bring winter gifts to my place of power, such as birdseeds.

Then, at the end of winter, I burn the contents in the fireplace, give thanks, and look forward to spring and increased time outdoors in nature.

Have fun with the creative design of your nature box!

Superfood – Nettle Seeds

Nettle is one of the wild herbs that can be used for healing in various areas. Nettles detoxify when drunk as a tea and have an anti-inflammatory effect. In the past, when suffering from rheumatism, people used to beat a branch of stinging nettle on the affected area.
Nettles contain a variety of active ingredients and minerals, as do the nettle seeds. In addition, they act like a natural Viagra and strengthen the desire.

Starting in the fall, I add half a teaspoon to my cereal every morning to strengthen my natural defenses.
I collect nettle branches already in early autumn, dry them well and then harvest the seeds. I fill these into a disposable jar and seal it well.

Enjoy your supperfood!

Connection with the drum

If you bought a drum, you can personalize it by painting it yourself. It’s always different when you make your own tools and supplies. On the one hand you can relax when you work with natural objects, on the other hand you automatically build a relationship to the object. When it is finished, you can enjoy it even more.

A few days ago I painted my purchased drum. I did it the way I was told to do it on a shamanic journey by my spiritual teacher. It was a special picture I had in mind with certain colors. And there was also an “instruction” how I can create this image.

Here are a few pictures:

I first applied the white paint to the center of the drum, and then applied just a few drops of each color. Then I took two plastic discs (which you use for microscopy, for example) and pulled the paint from the center out to the sides. Afterwards I drew a circle with it.

Here is the colorful result.

Have fun!

Incense for peace

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

To find inner peace and build a peaceful mood, you can use this incense blend.
Especially also after quarrels in the own four walls or to manifest a peaceful mood.
It gives strength and invites you to let yourself fall.

I often use oriental lanterns for incense. On the opening you can position quite prima an incense screen. This has a great effect and you can enjoy it together with friends and family.

Enjoy your peaceful time!

The power of thoughts

As you could already see from my article “Trust in the good” (see reference below), thoughts have a special magic. Positive thoughts can not only affect our mind and that of our environment, but with thoughts you also control that what comes to you. If I think positively and my thoughts are positive, positive things will also come into my life. This is the law of attraction.

The thought is actually like an email, which is composed and sent. When I form thoughts it is also a kind of vibration or frequency that is received by the universe and then converted into the material. Therefore the question is: which thought is worth to be thought? Which word is worth to be spoken? Both thoughts and words are vibrations. Everything is together and with each other in movement.

According to the “sending out” the answer takes place. This can be understood with a simple example. Imagine the following situation: Two people meet each other. One person is argumentative, bad-tempered and aggressive, and in this mood addresses the other person. Now each person would answer back just as snottily and probably behave in the same way. Try this experiment: In such a situation you react calmly, very friendly and courteous. Wait and see how the mood of the person opposite you changes.

The more we are at peace within ourselves, the more neutral our thoughts are. I mean all thoughts, no matter what we think about ourselves or about other people. Of course, this is easier said than done, because often and especially when we meet many other people we have the tendency to pattern the others. The thoughts bubble up automatically in us. Observe neutrally your mind game without judging yourself or the thoughts you have. Awareness of this behavior is a first step toward change.

Thoughts have a special power. Because I can materialize with them my life in such a way, as I imagine it in the interaction with the manifestation power. If I direct or steer my thoughts in situations in which I had previously committed negatively in a positive direction, I will automatically receive something positive back from the universe.

If I think in abundance, I receive abundance!
This succeeds most simply if I am in my inner peace and my head is “empty” and free from burdening thoughts. The easiest way to reach the state of “empty mind” is for teams to concentrate on their breathing. Slowly breathe in and out for a few minutes. Do you notice your chest rising slightly? What do you feel inside you, not with your thoughts? At first you can practice this in complete silence, later you can also practice it when you are on the road with the car, or in conversation with others, or with many disturbing factors. Stay in your inner center in your peace. Deep within you there is so much power. Do you feel it?

Have fun with the transformation!

Cococut rattle

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

It is very powerful to make your own items. You create something with your energy. It becomes even more intense when you let yourself be guided by the intuitions of your intuition during the production. This is a process that is not completed in a few hours, but often takes several days. One puts the object aside again and again and during these rests inspirations come, how one should proceed further. This is how a completely individual object is created.

That’s how I did it when making this rattle. It has a fantastic sound and you can make various sounds with it. It impresses with its simplicity.

Step 1: Drill a hole in one of the ends of the coconut with the wooden drill. When the hole is there, the coconut milk must first flow out. You can collect it in a glass and drink it. Coconut milk is very rich and healthy.

Step 2: Now you take the small hacksaw and saw the coconut long. This is necessary so that you end up with two halves that you can glue back together. When you have cut the coconut open, you can eat the coconut meat. It is very nutritious and tastes refreshing.

Step 3: The two coconut shells must now be sanded with the sandpaper until a smooth surface. You can use 80 and 120 sandpaper for this. When you are satisfied with the surface of the coconut, place the coconut shells on an old towel and brush the upper surface with olive oil. The olive oil must now be absorbed. Brushing must be repeated several times, but at least 3-4 times. The coconut shells should now dry for a few days. The oil should be well absorbed.

Step 4: In the meantime, take the beech branch. First, it is shortened to the length you need. Note that a piece of it about 1 cm, will disappear into the coconut. Now lightly carve the surface of the branch with a carving knife. When the branch is carved off, you can go over it with a piece of sandpaper to make it comfortable to touch. The end that is to disappear into the coconut must be carved off at an angle so that there is an indentation around it. Please also have a look at the photo. Then you coat it with walnut oil. This process must also be repeated several times. In between, the oil must be absorbed again and again before the next layer of oil can be applied.

Step 5: Now take the coconut and work on the hole you drilled at the beginning with the round file. To do this, you have to take the beech branch again and again to see if it fits in and where you have to file off more. If you can push the beech branch in and the coconut is under a little tension (but only a little), then it is just right.

Step 6: You can now fill one half of the coconut with gems, small pieces of wood, juniper berries and other small stones. I have taken a few small stones that I found at the stand. The weight of the shells should be weighed by hand. If it is too heavy, then rather take less. You can also orient yourself to the photo above.

Step 7: Now put some wood glue around the hole of the coconut and the beech branch and press the beech branch into the filled coconut shell. Then put some wood glue on the edge of the coconut shell and press them together. Remove the excess wood glue with a cake towel. To make sure the whole thing holds together, I pressed it together with a screw clamp for a few days until the glue was completely cured.

Step 8: Finally, you can decorate your rattle. I have a light brown almost white narrow leather strap wrapped around it and knotted.

Enjoy the sound of your coconut rattle!
